Karen Forsyth
Karen Forsyth is a retired registered nurse with four decades of dedicated healthcare experience. Throughout her nursing career, she worked extensively with the developmentally disabled population at a residential facility, later progressing to leadership positions including Director of Quality Improvement and Chief Nursing Officer at a psychiatric hospital. She holds both her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Registered Nurse (RN) degrees, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with honors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Karen’s professional journey has been marked by compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to patient care. Her expertise spans multiple healthcare settings, from direct bedside nursing to complex administrative leadership, always maintaining deep concern for those she serves. Her passion for mental health advocacy stems from witnessing how trauma affects families and individuals navigating life’s most difficult circumstances.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Karen is a devoted wife, mother to two sons and a bonus daughter, and grandmother to seven beloved grandchildren whose joy brings immeasurable meaning to her life. A woman of profound faith, she has witnessed God’s faithfulness through numerous trials: a near-fatal car accident that prompted her initial retirement in 2013, her mother Dorothy’s remarkable fifty-year cancer survival, her niece Amber’s courageous battle with endometrial cancer, and her own cancer diagnosis in late 2025.
